The fine and performing arts at Saint Mark's High School have a long and rich history, dating to the opening of the school when cafeteria tables joined together sufficed for a stage. Since that time, the facilities and the programs have continued to grow and improve.
Today, Saint Mark's provides students with truly outstanding opportunities in the fine and performing arts, including drawing, photography, choral music, instrumental music and drama. Annual dramatic and musical productions, as well as numerous concerts and special events, are the highlight of the year for many in our community. And, the marching band is a constant presence at Saint Mark's football games and other events.
In the fine arts, Saint Mark's students excel in producing beautiful, thought-provoking art in a variety of forms, including painting, drawing, photography, ceramics and sculpture.
Many Saint Mark's graduates continue their education at schools of drama and music in New York, Pennsylvania and California, to name a few. Others, with interests in the fine arts, are routinely accepted in schools such as the University of the Arts and the Maryland Institute College of Art.
For a student interested in the fine or performing arts, Saint Mark's provides unparalleled opportunities for growth while providing an outstanding educational and co-curricular experience in other areas as well. |
