Join Us for Saint Nick at Saint Mark's!
|The Saint Mark’s Z-Club will hold the annual Saint Nick at Saint Mark’s event for friends and family of Saint Mark’s on Sunday, December 8, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. Join in the Christmas fun with free games, crafts, face painting, stories and a special appearance by Santa Claus! A light lunch will be provided. To register, CLICK HERE!|

|Saint Mark's Marching Band in Claymont Christmas Parade TOMORROW!|
The band will be marching in the Claymont Christmas parade at 10:00 a.m. this Saturday, December 7, on Philadelphia Pike from Maple Lane to Darley Road with the Knights of Columbus. Come out and support our Spartan band members!
|Save the Date for the Parent Association Wine and Beer Tasting|
The Parent Association cordially invites you to the fourth annual Wine and Beer Tasting on February 22, 2014 in the Saint Mark’s Cafeteria from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The cost will be $10 per person in advance and $15 at the door.
The event has been a huge success and we hope that you will join us to meet other parents of the Saint Mark’s community in a casual setting.
Light hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks will be available and there will also be raffles and door prizes!
Tickets may be purchased online and through the main office beginning in early January. A limited amount will also be made available at the door on February 22. Tickets purchased in advance will be held at the door for you.

|Saint Mark's Students to Learn about Strife in Egypt from Pastor of Coptic Orthodox Church|
Saint Mark’s seniors in World Religions classes will have the chance to hear first hand about the civil unrest currently happening in Egypt. On Tuesday, November 19, Fr. Mina, pastor of Saint Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church in Newark, will visit the school to speak about the Coptic Orthodox religion, an Egyptian Christian denomination that long ago branched from the Catholic Church.
|Saint Mark's Alumnae, Twin Sisters Featured in The News Journal|
Saint Mark's alums Kasey and Lindsay Prettyman ’10 were featured this week in The News Journal for their continued excellence as student-athletes at the University of Delaware.
Their former track coach, Michael DiGennaro of the Saint Mark's English department, was elated about the recognition of the girls' success.
"They were two of the four girls on the school's record-setting All-State 4x800 team in 2010," said DiGennaro, "and have both had tremendous careers at UD."

|Spartan Alum Gets First Collegiate Start at Shepherd|
Class of 2012 member Jeff Ziemba was a success at his first start as quarterback on October 19 for the Shepherd University (West Virginia) football team, leading the undefeated Rams team to a 57-17 win against Notre Dame of Ohio.
|Senior Earns Scouting's Highest Honor|
Vincent Panella ’14 has earned the Eagle Scout Award, the highest advancement in the Boy Scouts of America. Panella, a member of Troop 88 chartered by St. Anthony of Padua parish, will receive the award at a special court of honor on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the parish.
|Boys' Cross Country Team 300 Mile Club Gets New Members|
The fifth annual boys’ cross-country team’s 300 Mile Club includes nine members this year. Earning the 2013 jerseys are seniors Mark Corrigan, Stephen Constantinou, Ben Steenkamer, Dan O’Donnell, and Sam Freda, junior Andrew Kacmarcik, and sophomores Chris Higgins, Matt Marsilii, and Richie Langan.
|Sophomore Commended for Dedication to Service|
Emily Goss ’16 was recognized by the city of Newark for her dedication to service to the residents of the town this summer. Goss participated in two camps as a volunteer counselor, giving up 170 hours of her time to help others.
|Saint Mark's Alumna Awarded Scholarship|
Saint Mark’s alumna Jaclyn Harkins ‘12, received a scholarship award from the Delaware State Education Association and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 1238.

The Saint Mark’s High School Z-Club was prominently featured in the August edition of the club’s parent organization newsletter for their win of the the 2013 Emma L. Conlon Service Award. Zonta, International featured the club for its many successful service programs in three categories: school services, community services and international services.
