Baseball Player Tom Cochran '01 Featured in The News Journal

Cochran, a former Delaware High School All State pitcher, has seen his share of successes and difficulties as he has worked his way through the ranks. After a stellar career at Saint Mark's under coach Matthew Smith, who is now athletic director, Cochran attended Middle Georgia College, from which he was drafted in the 18th round by the Boston Red Sox organization.

Since then, Cochran has been on a varied path in the Independent Professional Baseball Leagues in search of his dream to play in the majors. Last year, he thought he had his big break with the Cincinnati Reds, only to be returned to AAA after a few days. But none of this has stopped him and he refuses to give up.
