AP Environmental Science Class Gains Hands-On Experience

On October 12, 2016, the Delaware Environmental Education Center invited thirty juniors and seniors from Ms. Wynne Esbitt's AP Environmental Science class to join in on a day of hiking, canoeing, and water-testing. Upon arrival at the Christina Watershed, students were split into two groups and proceeded to their first activity—either canoeing or hiking.

After each group met up and switched activities, both groups returned to the education center to proceed to the next occupations: water-testing, hands-on insect observation, and a presentation on the waters of the world.
The water quality was determined to be quite good based on their findings!

After both groups had their turns at each activity, the day of environmental fun was over. However, the memories of the field trip will last for much longer!
