SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS, AND AID
The deadline for all Class of 2029 scholarship applications will be November 1st, 2024. Scholarship applications will not be accepted after this date. Scholarships are available specifically for eighth grade students. Scholarships automatically renew annually, as long as the student meets the annual criteria for their award.

The priority due date for financial aid and grant applications is November 1st, 2024. While this deadline guarantees that our Finance Office will be able to provide a decision regarding aid with your admissions package, financial aid applications are still fielded on a rolling basis. Financial aid and grants are available for all students. Families are required to complete a financial aid and/or grant application annually.

  • Academic Scholarships

    Eighth grade students who take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) at Saint Mark's are guaranteed the consideration for Saint Mark's Academic Scholarships. Should a student be awarded an Academic Scholarship, it will be communicated within their acceptance letter.
  • Excellence in STEM

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in STEM. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their ability to perform excellence in STEM. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Excellence in English

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in English. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their ability to perform excellence in English. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Excellence in History

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in History. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their ability to perform excellence in History. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Excellence in Instrumental Music

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Instrumental Music. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their ability to perform excellence in Instrumental Music and upload a video audition of the student playing the instrument they are most passionate about. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Excellence in Art

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Art. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their ability to perform excellence in Art and upload three pieces of their best artwork. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Excellence in Performing Arts

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Performing Arts (vocals, acting, or dance). They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their ability to perform excellence in Vocals, Acting, or Dance and upload a video audition of the student singing, acting, or dancing. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Commitment to Catholic Faith and Life

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their leadership and commitment to their Catholic faith. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on how they live out their Catholic faith daily and serve as Stewards of the Church. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Commitment to Community Service

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Community Service. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their involvement in community service in a leadership role and how they have continuously made a positive impact in the community through advocacy, philanthropy, fundraising, and more. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Commitment to Leadership

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Leadership. They will also have the opportunity to elaborate on their innovative ideas, business excellence, and/or community involvement as one of our region's top middle school leaders. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Esports Scholarship

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Esports. If you have reached a local, regional, or national ranking, the application will request this ranking. Eighth grade students will also have the opportunity to upload a gaming resume. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Cheerleading Scholarship

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Cheerleading. Eighth grade students will also have the opportunity to upload an audition video and answer specific questions attributable to excellence in cheerleading. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.
  • Ice Hockey Scholarship

    Eighth grade students will be requested to answer questions specifically attributable to their achievements, accolades, and awards in Ice Hockey. Eighth grade students will also have the opportunity to answer questions about their ability to perform excellence in ice hockey and their goals/aspirations moving forward into high school. Students can apply for this award in the scholarship section the Class of 2029 Freshman Application.

GRANTS AND FINANCIAL AID:

  • Catholic Education and Ministry Grant

    Families who work for a Catholic institution in a full-time capacity may apply for our Saint Mark's Catholic Education and Ministry Grant. Employment and the contact information of your supervisor will be requested within the application. Apply to Saint Mark's High School to access this application. If an award is made, it will be communicated to a student in their acceptance letter.
  • Financial Aid

    Families with a financial need may apply for financial aid. If you are a current family and receive financial aid, you are required to re-apply annually. If you already have a FACTS account for tuition and/or financial aid from previous years/another school (elementary school, etc.), please feel free to use your same log-in credentials.   • Cpl. Stephen M. McGowan Fund

    Active duty military members and veterans may apply for financial aid by way of our Cpl. Stephen M. McGowan Fund. This fund honors the life of Stephen M. McGowan '96 who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. In honor of Cpl. Stephen McGowan, this fund ensures a pathway to Catholic education for the children of all active duty military members and veterans. Apply to Saint Mark's High School to access this application. If an award is made, it will be communicated to a student in their acceptance letter.
  • Everyday Heroes Fund

    Families who serve the community as police officers, firefighters, or paramedics in a full-time capacity may apply for financial aid by way of our Everyday Heroes Fund. Apply to Saint Mark's High School to access this application. If an award is made, it will be communicated to a student in their acceptance letter.
  • CDOW Vision for the Future Education Trust Fund

    The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington's Vision for the Future Education Trust Fund Education Trust Fund is available to all students. Please note, these awards are not Saint Mark's Financial Aid Awards. They are separate awards based on Diocesan criteria. This fund offers tuition assistance to low-income families that struggle to afford the full cost of tuition. It is the policy of the diocese that tuition assistance will be granted to only those families whose children are officially registered at Saint Mark's High School or an additional school within the Diocese. For this reason, enrollment must be official before tuition assistance can be offered. FACTS representatives are available to guide parents through the application process and to answer questions by calling 1-866-441-4637.
